Storm Flooding Causes Parkway Closures In Westchester

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — The powerful overnight winter storm left flooded parkways and detours in its wake for commuters to deal with this morning.

The Westchester County Police Department is asking commuters to drive carefully and follow all posted detours and traffic controls this morning.

Here are current parkway conditions in Westchester County, according to the WCPD, as of 7 a.m.:

• The Bronx River Parkway is closed in both directions from the Sprain Brook Pkwy in Yonkers to Cemetery Rd. in Greenburgh. The southbound is also closed from the Kensico Circle in Valhalla to Cemetery Rd.
• The southbound at Exit 11E in Yonkers is closed due to flooding at Wakefield Ave. All traffic is being diverted onto the eastbound Cross County Pkwy.
• The northbound is closed at Exit 10A at Yonkers Ave. due to flooding.
• NYC has the northbound parkway closed at the E. 233rd St exit.
• The Hutchinson River Parkway is open but there is ponding in some areas causing delays.
• The Saw Mill River Parkway is partially closed. The southbound is closed at Exit 26 at the Taconic State Pkwy. Traffic is being diverted onto the southbound Taconic. The ramp from the Taconic State Parkway southbound to the Saw Mill River Pkwy southbound is also closed.
• The northbound is closed at Exit 23 in Eastview due to flooding. The ramp from Route 9A in Hawthorne (Exit 25) and the ramp from the northbound Taconic State Pkwy onto the northbound Saw Mill River Pkwy are closed.
• The southbound is closed at Exit 21 at Route 119 in Elmsford due to flooding.
• The northbound is closed at Exit 20 at the NYS Thruway due to flooding. Traffic is being diverted onto the NYS Thruway northbound.
• The southbound is closed at Exit 16 at Lawrence St. due to flooding. The ramps from Cliff St. (Exit 15) and Clarence Ave. (Exit 14) in Hastings are closed onto the Saw Mill River Parkway.
• The northbound is closed at Exit 13 Farragut Pkwy due to flooding.
• The southbound is closed at Exit 10 for Hearst St. due to flooding.
• The northbound is closed at Exit 7 for Tuckahoe Rd. due to flooding at Executive Blvd. The ramp from Executive Blvd to Saw Mill River Pkwy is closed.
• Cross County Parkway: The eastbound and westbound exit ramps onto the Bronx River Pkwy. (Exit 6) southbound are closed.
