Summer 2022 'Fun In The Sun' Day Camps at New Rochelle Schools

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Parks and Recreation Department announced that its annual "Fun in the Sun" summer day camps program will be returning to school facilities this year.

Kiddie Kamp will take place at Columbus Elementary School from July 5 - Aug. 12. It will be a half-day camp for children ages 3 - 5 (must turn 3 by July 2, 2022). Children will be grouped by developmental compatibility. Activities will promote socialization, physical education, language development and fun. Note: children must be completely toilet-trained and pull-ups will not be permitted. The fee is $550 by May 31 and $600 afterwards. Financial aid is available.

Ready, Set, Camp! will be held at Jefferson or Ward Elementary Schools from July 5 - Aug. 12. It will be a full-day camp geared towards children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade. Activities will include arts and crafts, group games, sports, music, performances, performing arts, hiking and more. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Four day trips are planned. The fee is $950 with an additional $165 for early drop-off. Financial aid is available.

Camp N.O.W. will be at New Rochelle High School from June 27 - Aug. 5. It is designed for students who completed fifth, sixth or seventh grades. It will be a four-hour camp program meeting Monday - Thursday. Additionally, there will be trips on three Fridays. Activities will include sports, games, arts, STEAM and pre-teen themed activities. $100 program enrichment fee.

Camp Joy will take place at Albert Leonard Middle School from June 27 - Aug. 5. It will be for special education students ages 5 - 21. Campers with mild to moderate intellectual/developmental disabilities will be offered an environment to explore and showcase their abilities. The activities planned will include visual and performing arts, movement, fitness, games, social learning and cultural enrichment. The fee is $550 by May 31 and $600 afterwards. Financial aid is available.
