Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: 70th Anniversary NCNW Gala
Every week, Patch will spotlight volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.
This week, we are putting the spotlight on some opportunities in the Hudson Valley.
English-French Interpreter
Westchester Land Trust is seeking a volunteer to help provide interpretation between French and English during an upcoming event. Volunteers should be proficient in conservational French and may assist with light setup. Refreshments will be provided and the dress code is business casual.
Date: 9/29 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

70th Anniversary Gala
The Westchester chapter of the National Council of Negro Women is commemorating 70 years of service with a celebratory gala that shines a spotlight on the milestones and accomplishments of the organization. The event also honors Westchester County heroes who have made significant impacts in the community. Volunteers are needed to assist with decorations, greeting guests, supporting the raffle, and setup/cleanup. Dinner is provided for all volunteers.

Rocky's 5K
Rocky's 5K is a fun, family-friendly event that raises money for the carriage roads of Rockefeller State Park Preserve. Friendly, enthusiastic volunteers are needed to serve in a variety of roles to help make the event a success, including serving as parking guides, course marshals, and registration volunteers.

Living My Best Life Health Fair
Co-sponsored by Feeding Westchester and the City of Mount Vernon, the Second Annual "Living My Best Life" health fair provides the community with a vibrant, informative health experience that engages the mind, body and spirit. The event features children's activities, a fitness zone, and health screenings. Volunteers are needed to assist with roles such as setting up and breaking down, checking-in guests, distributing fliers and name badges, answering questions and directing guests, and assisting with the activity zones.

BioBlitz at Ward Pount Ridge Reservation
Volunteers are needed to help park staff identify as many species as possible in the meadows at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. Participants will use the iNaturalist phone app to take photos of insect, plant, and animal species they find and report them to a shared project.
