HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

New Rochelle Farmer's Market
The New Rochelle Farmer's Market brings together bonafide growers, bakers, and producers of homemade products. Volunteers are needed to assist the crew chief with event setup and assisting with event breakdown. This is perfect for volunteers 16+.
Date: Sundays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Snack Drive for Choir Campers
Songcatchers' Choir Camp is a one-week residential sleepaway camp for children 7-14 who love music, singing, and performing. It is focused on making music through an environment of mutual respect, team-building, and collaboration. To help make its 50 campers' experience a little sweeter, Songcatchers is hosting a donation drive for popular snacks and treats, including potato chips, fruit cups, fruit snacks, and granola bars. Volunteers can collect and drop off their snack donations to the provided address in Larchmont.
Date: Drop-off by July 18; Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Outdoor Film Screening & Live Music Event
GARNER Arts Center will be showing classic silent film short comedies — alongside live original scores performed by Herve Alexandre — as part of its annual summer film and live music event. Volunteers are needed to assist with event setup, box office, concessions, and event breakdown. Date: Saturday, July 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

New Rochelle Street Team
Volunteers are needed to "hit the streets" to hang posters and flyers promoting New Rochelle's many happenings at neighborhood hubs, community fairs, events and more. Volunteers will receive e-alerts when opportunities become available and they can sign up where and when it's convenient for their schedules.

Volunteer Interpreter: Arabic
Neighbors Link provides immigration legal services, such as citizenship applications and removal proceedings, to both detained and non-detained individuals, adults and children in New York family court, federal court and before ICE and more. It serves a wide range of immigrant New Yorkers, including those from Central America, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, the Caribbean, West Africa, Latin American, the Middle East and Russia. It is seeking volunteers fluent in Arabic to serve as translators to assist with both in-person and phone services.
