Winter Weather Advisories In The Hudson Valley As Snowy Forecast Gets Even Snowier: NWS
A wintry blast is headed our way, and weather alerts are expanding to include Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, and Orange counties.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A wintry blast is headed our way overnight, and severe weather advisories are expanding to include much of the Hudson Valley.
A quick-moving low pressure system will bring accumulating snowfall to the region tonight into Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Winter Weather Advisories will be in effect for Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties beginning at 10 p.m. on Saturday, and continuing until early afternoon on Sunday. The National Weather Service has declared a Hazardous Weather Outlook for much of the Hudson Valley. The heaviest snowfall is expected to the south, but parts of Dutchess and Ulster counties could see as much as four inches of snow accumulation.

In southern Westchester and southern Rockland counties, total snowfall of 3 to 5 inches is likely, with locally 6 inches possible. The snow will start at around 10 p.m., with around a half-inch an hour likely between midnight and 11 a.m., but up to an inch an hour possible between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m., according to the NWS.
Wet snow, possibly mixed with rain early is expected this evening, becoming dry and powdery late tonight into Sunday morning.

To the north, total snowfall of 2 to 4 inches is likely, locally up to 5 inches is possible.

Hazardous travel is expected due to reduced visibilities (down to ½ mile at times) and
snow-covered roads after 10 p.m. tonight through Sunday morning. Snow will be ending mid-morning to early Sunday afternoon.
