Longtime Southold Town Police Chief Martin Flatley has been named Grand Marshal of the annual event.
And, for the first time this year, a quiet zone is offered between Bay and Front Streets, so that "children and pets can enjoy the parade in silence," organizers said.

The parade, which kicks off at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, on Knapp Place, brings fire departments from across Long Island to the village. A longtime tradition, the parade is one of the oldest and largest parades on Long Island.
With sirens sounding, horns and bells ringing, and bagpipes delighting onlookers, the parade, organized by the Greenport Fire Department, wends its way along Front Street before ending with hot dogs and clam chowder at the firehouse on Third Street, a treasured finale to the day.
Flatley reflected on being chosen as grand marshal. "I feel honored by the invitation," he said. "I have always enjoyed a good relationship with both the Greenport Fire Department and the Village of Greenport, and am looking forward to the parade Saturday."
