GREENPORT, NY — A crowd packed the Greenport Harbor Brewing Company in Peconic Sunday for the popular Annual North Fork Chili Cook-Off.

"This fun competition was created to celebrate the local eateries that support the brewery all year long and to provide a delicious community get-together during a 'chilly' time of year," organizers said.

For the second time, local fire departments also participated, bringing their special chili recipes and competing to win Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice Awards.

And, when all the chili was tasted, the results were in: "The 2025 North Fork Chili Cook-Off is in the books!" GHBC said. "Our chili pepper hearts are full after an incredible day. We are beyond grateful to the amazing restaurants and inspiring fire department teams who participated, our esteemed judges and so many members of the community who came out. We, of course, can’t forget our GHBC team who made it happen! As all will attest, every chili was delicious. The ballot counts for both Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice were close."

Owners thanked participating restaurants, including Alpina, Nookies, Crazy Beans, Whiskey Wind, North Fork Table + Inn, Biggies of The Catered Fork, Lucharitos, Ellen’s on Front and Green Hill Kitchen.

Participating fire departments included Greenport, Southold, East Marion, and Jamesport.

Judges included Chef Lauren Lombardi, Chef Max Mohrmann, Chef Cheryl Stair, Emmy-winning producer Rich Rosenthal, and food columnist/writer Doug Young.

"We already can’t wait for next year," GHBC said.
