Crowds should be bigger than normal at Christmas tree farms this year. A fundraiser this weekend will see costumed locals jumping into the water on Shelter Island. And another East End village banned marijuana.

3. There are a ton of events and fundraisers on the North Fork this Thanksgiving weekend. One is a costumed dip into the water at Crescent Beach on Shelter Island, the Friends of the Library Turkey Plunge is this Saturday at 11 a.m. (Northforker)
4. Nearby, the Village of Quogue joins other East End municipalities to ban marijuana sales.
   The village board unanimously passed the opt-out legislation at a board meeting on Oct. 15. Greenport Village may vote on the issue as soon as next week. (Dan's Papers)
