Ducklings Saved, Reunited With Mother
Southold Police and Town workers save ducklings that had fallen into a Route 48 drain.

Six ducklings were reunited with their mother after they’d fallen into a drain on Route 48 in Cutchogue on June 3.
officers responded to a report at 7:34 a.m. of a duck that was in the roadway, causing vehicles to slow and swerve to avoid hitting the bird, police said.
Responding officers located the duck and found that several ducklings had fallen into a road drain. Police officers along with Pete Harris and Bill Gaffga of the and Kevin Quillin assisted in locating and removing the six ducklings from an approximately 15-foot deep drain. They were reunited with their mother.
