Feb. 3: Jazzfest Kickoff, Jigsaw Marathon and a Sparkling Website

Thursday is a great day to take in some jazz piano, play games with the fam and check out a new website from our local promotional council.

Winterfest 2011 kicks off today at Hotel Indigo in Riverhead and the North Fork Promotion Council unveils a new website at Sparkling Pointe in Southold.

1. Long Island Winterfest Jazz on the Vine launches today at 11:30 a.m. with a press conference at Hotel Indigo in Riverhead. The festival begins this weekend on the North Fork with performances from some of jazz's hottest acts at local wineries and runs through March 20. Approximately 50 jazz concerts will be performed at area vineyards and other locations, including . Witness the delivery of a Kawai Piano into the freshly refurbished lobby of the former Best Western in Riverhead this morning. Look for the video later today on North Fork Patch.

2. Pick up the pieces and go tothis morning at 10 a.m. for a jigsaw puzzle marathon. The games end on Feb 28. Call 631-298-4134.

3. Thehas a new website and wants ya'll to know. Join members of the council and have a glass of fine local bubbly at winery in Southold at 6:30 p.m. for the official unveiling.
