Man Charged With Felony DWI In Hampton Bays: Police
He was seen driving in a vehicle that had heavy front-end damage, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY – A Hampton Bays man was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated recently, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, on December 23, a report came in about a motor vehicle with heavy front-end damage that was traveling on East Tiana Road in Hampton Bays.
Responding officers located the vehicle stopped on East Tiana Road and Pineview Lane, with the driver still seated behind the wheel, police said. Further investigation determined that the driver, while in an intoxicated condition, left the roadway and struck a fence on a nearby property; no injuries were reported as a result of the incident, police said.

James Henry Stones, 42, of Hampton Bays, was arrested and charged with felony DWI, along with additional traffic infractions, police said. Stones was transported to Southampton Town police headquarters, where he was processed and held pending morning arraignment, police said.
