Greenport Auditorium to Reopen on Monday

, students of Greenport School have had to make do without an auditorium due to extensive renovation work on the historic room.

But on Monday, the school will host a grand reopening of the auditorium, which has been ripped up and seatless for months. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 7 p.m., according to Greenport School Superintendent Michael Comanda.

The work to the auditorium and to other sections of the was approved through a capital improvement bond by local taxpayers last December. Other projects including new boilers, windows, solar panels and a windmill are being completed right on schedule, Comanda said.
