That’s why we want to make sure the community understands that the bank does not own the building. Nor do we own the land. They are owned by a developer/landlord, whose project has been halted before completion for numerous reasons. Our involvement and responsibility is really pretty simple. Hudson City Savings Bank has a contract to be a tenant when the construction is completed.
No one is more disappointed than we are that this project has stalled and is currently the subject of numerous lawsuits. In the meantime, we will continue to serve our new and existing North Fork customers from our branches in Riverhead, Southold and Greenport.
