Longtime Southold Town Police Chief Martin Flatley was named Grand Marshal of the annual event.
And, for the first time this year, a quiet zone was offered between Bay and Front Streets, so that "children and pets could enjoy the parade in silence," organizers said.

With sirens sounding, horns and bells ringing, and bagpipes delighting onlookers, the parade, organized by the Greenport Fire Department, wended its way along Front Street before ending with hot dogs and clam chowder at the firehouse on Third Street, a treasured finale to the day.
Flatley reflected on being chosen as grand marshal. "I feel honored by the invitation," he said. "I have always enjoyed a good relationship with both the Greenport Fire Department and the Village of Greenport."
