Machete-Brandishing LI Man Threatens To Kill Worker Over Fence: Police
Brandishing a machete, he threatened to kill the construction worker in Greenport, police say.
GREENPORT, NY — A fight over a new fence escalated Saturday when a Greenport man brandished a machete, threatening to kill a construction worker, police said.
According to Southold Town police, the incident took place at 3:30 p.m. at a home on 2nd Street.
Roberto Bachez-Reyes, 44, confronted a construction worker about the new fence; he was "not happy" about the fence being constructed, police said. He then threatened to kill the worker and brandished the machete, police said.

He was later located, arrested, and taken to police headquarters for processing, police said. Bachez-Reyes was charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, police said.
