Man Busted For Stealing Firewood From North Fork Roadside Stand: PD

He stole firewood at 5 different times, police say.

SOUTHOLD, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested after he stole firewood from a roadside stand in Southold multiple times, police said.

According to Southold Town police, Wieslaw Wrobel, 62, was arrested on April 22 at 9:51 p.m. on Main Road. He was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, police said.

Wrobel was arrested following a police investigation involving multiple larcenies of firewood from the roadside firewood stand; he was responsible for taking firewood without paying from the stand on Main Road on five separate occasions, police said.

Wieslaw was released on an appearance ticket and will return to Southold Town Justice Court for arraignment at a later date, police said.
