Nov. 6-7: Theater, Live Music and Long Island Restaurant Week

Alongside the usual fun with live music and food demonstrations at local wineries this weekend, the North Fork offers a, two interesting theatrical performances and a holiday open house at an art gallery in Cutchogue.

The (that's just over three miles) run Saturday morning starting at 8:30 a.m. at the high school to benefit the athletic association, the North Fork Parish Outreach Food Pantry and other health and wellness programs for Southold students. Registration in $25 the day of the event.

If you're looking for some original art to add to the collection, check out the on Main Road in Cutchogue from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The gallery will display homemade arts and crafts with refreshments on hand. Call 631-734-6382 for more information.

Two theatrical performances continue their run on the North Fork this weekend: Anton Chekhov's plays Saturday and Sunday at the and an original piece from North East Stage called depicts the life of the 21^st century theater master at in Greenport Friday and Saturday. After years of restoration work and waiting for permits, is finally open in Aquebogue, serving up locally grown food and wine. They're having a party on Saturday from 2:30 to 7 p.m., featuring live music from a band lead by Tom Schaudel, the chef atrestaurant in Mattituck.

Live music at wineries on Saturday includes: the indie folk of Big River Ransom at in Cutchogue from 1 to 5 p.m.; the classic rock and country of Southbound at in Southold from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.;  singer and guitarist Chris Sampogna atin Riverhead from 2 to 5 p.m.; Jay Dorsa at in Mattituck from 2 to 6 p.m.; Bob Blatchley at in Jamesport from 2 to 6 p.m.; and the singer-songwirter acoustic songs of the Baxter Miller Band at in Jamesport from 2 to 5 p.m.

On Sunday, catch performances from Take 3 at in Cutchogue from 1 to 5 p.m.; classical musician Gunter Stern at the at 2 p.m.; Second Chance at in Riverhead from 2 to 5 p.m.; at in Jamesport from 2 to 5 p.m.; and Nina Etc. atin Jameport from 2 to 5 p.m.

Don't forget about champagne, Chopin and caviar at in Peconic all weekend and a pizza-making demonstration at in Jamesport, also running all weekend.

at in Greenport Sunday at 2 p.m. The "Night of the Broken Glass" will be commemorated at the small congregation with a viewing of "Remembering Kristallnacht," a film produced by the U.S. Holocaust Museum. Call 631-477-0813 for more information.
