North Fork Patch documented some spooky stories throughout the month  — and there's more if you go looking.

Patch contributor Sandy Martocchia described how she thinks her Greenport home — once a dairy farm — is haunted by spirits from the former occupants, with ghostly footsteps and mysterious phone calls.

A former Newsday writer releases Ghosts of Long Island books in e-format, penned with the help of paranormal investigator Joe Giaquinto of Hampton Bays.

We might not know if these places are haunted or not, but one can't help but image what might have gone on the other side of the walls of these dilapidated North Fork houses.

. Walk into Finnegan's Wake, a historic tavern in South Jamesport, and ask anyone who works there about its resident spirit, a man they call Uncle Eddie. Eddie lived in a very haunted-looking house next to the bar and worked for years doing odds and ends for the place. He's often seen by male patrons in the mirror in the men's restroom and likes to pick on female employees once in a while — moving beer bottles around and opening closed doors, they say.
