Police Report: Drug Possession, DWI and MVAs

Southold Town police report two incidents of drug possession, a DWI and two motor vehicle accidents.

Anthony DeFelice, 30, of Coram was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Thursday at 11:48 a.m. in Mattituck, after a Mattituck High School student alerted school security of a suspicious male sitting in his vehicle in the high school parking lot during student lunch hours. Police responded, investigated and found Mr. DeFelice to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a marijuana pipe, police said.

Robert Nugent, 39, of Greenport was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance on Oct. 20, after police observed Nugent sitting in his car parked at the end of Sound Drive in Greenport. After investigation, Nugent was found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine located in his vehicle, police said.

Sharon Hilton, 41, of Greenport was charged with driving while intoxicated on Saturday at 3:58 p.m., after she lost control of her 2008 Jeep while heading north on Main Street in Greenport and struck a pole, police reported. The collision caused damage to the Jeep and the pole to crack at the base. After administering several roadside sobriety tests, police found Hilton to be intoxicated and seized her vehicle due to a prior DWI conviction.

John Kirchner, 56, a homeless Greenport man, was charged with criminal trespass on Oct. 24 at 2:17 p.m., after police found him in a residence where he was told a few days before to stay away, police said.

A 36-year-old Brooklyn woman was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center on Oct. 24 at 9:46 a.m. after she was struck by a 2001 Nissan driven by Ingeborg Mueller, 69, of Mattituck. The woman attempting to cross Old Sound Avenue in Mattituck. Mueller was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Westphalia Avenue and Old Sound Avenue and began to move forward when she struck the pedestrian, police said.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were charged with the above offenses. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
