Police: Southold Man Charged With DWI; Car Crash in Mattituck
Southold Town Police charge a Southold man with driving while intoxicated this past Saturday; Cutchogue man hospitalized after a car accident in Mattituck.

• Colin Volinski, 22, of Southold, was charged with driving while intoxicated, speeding and driving with an obstructed view on Feb. 4 at 9:44 p.m., after police stopped him for the speeding violation on Wickham Avenue in Mattituck, police said. Volinski was found to be intoxicated, arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held pending arraignment, police said.
• Thomas Lind, 46, of Cutchogue was hospitalized on Feb. 7 after Brian Reese, 44, of Middle Island struck his 2003 Dodge pickup with a 1999 Ford van at 5:38 p.m. in Mattituck, police said. Reese was heading west on Sound Avenue when an uninvolved vehicle suddenly stopped in front of him, police said. To avoid rear-ending that vehicle, police said that Reese attempted to turn into a driveway on the opposite side of the road but turned in front of Lind, who was heading east. Lind complained of minor ankle pain and was taken to by members of the , police said.
