Police: Southold Man Charged With Unlicensed Operation After MVA

Antonio Gomez, 21, of Southold was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on Sunday at 5:08 a.m. on the corner of Route 25 and New Suffolk Avenue in Mattituck. Police said that Gomez was heading east on Route 25 when he swerved to avoid a deer, lost control of his vehicle and hit a utility pole. Members of the responded to the scene but Gomez and a passenger refused medical treatment and Gomez was charged with driving the vehicle without a license, police said.
