Police: Southold Woman Drives Drunk, Crashes Into Utility Pole

Southold Town Police charge a Southold woman with driving while intoxicated after she crashed into a pole on Monday.

Linda Evangelista, 57, of Southold, was charged with driving while intoxicated on March 5 at 1:35 p.m. after she lost control of her vehicle as she drove north on Boisseau Avenue in Southold. Evangelista attempted a left-hand turn onto Route 48 and struck a utility pole on the north side of the highway, police said. She was found to be in an intoxicated condition, was arrested and transported to police headquarters in Peconic for processing, police said.
