Question of the Day: Do You Have High Phosphate Levels in Your Pool?

Workers in the local pool care industry say that high phosphate levels have been an issue this season — are you having trouble too?

Last week a Greenport woman emailed North Fork Patch saying that for some reason, she cannot seem to get phosphate levels down to a controllable parts-per-billion this season. Higher levels of phosphates can make algae control more difficult and increase the amount of sanitizer required to maintain your pool. Local pool care experts have also said that they've been dealing with more requests for increased phosphate control.

Have you been experiencing this same problem with your pool water? Let us know in the comment boxes below. And stay tuned for a story on the issue this week on North Fork Patch.
