Long Island Restaurant Week is happening and seven North Fork spots are part of it. A woman got an unexpected 81-year-old family heirloom thanks to the Internet.

1. News 12 Long Island talks to a Riverhead woman who received a duffel bag from her father's World War II service. Eileen Sullivan Alber, 75, traveled to Indiana to thank the Indiana family who had bought the bag and found her on the Internet and returned it to her. Cpl. Joseph W. Sullivan was killed in action while serving in the Korean War. (News 12)
2. Long Island's Restaurant Week is happening until Nov. 14. Northforker has a list of the seven North Fork restaurants joining in. Jamesport Manor Inn is one. (Northforker)
3. One farm on the North Fork uses horses to help heal people with trauma or other emotional issues. Spirit’s Promise Equine Rescue in Baiting Hollow is a three-acre farm with rescued horses, donkeys, cows, ducks, turkeys, guinea hens, pigs and goats. (Northforker)
