Hello North Fork!

Before kicking off today's newsletter, Patch wants to offer an apology to readers of North Fork Daily and to the family of Marta Esmerelda Ramirez-Carbajal. Given the "headline roundup" nature of the Daily headlines, sometimes tones can be mixed unintentionally when different stories are mentioned in the header. A few days ago this occurred in the North Fork Daily. The newsletter headline coupled the story of Ramirez-Carbajal with another news item in an unintentionally inappropriate fashion. This has since been changed. Please know Patch did not mean to disrespect the victim or her family, and we deeply apologize for the disrespect that did result. We are considering other headline styles that reflects the North Fork Daily's format, while avoiding unintended insensitivity. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please reach out to me at . — Madison Feser (Project Manager)
