Southold Town to Travel to Fishers Island Wednesday

Sometimes — well, most of the time — we North Forkers don't really think about the easternmost hamlet of Southold Town — Fishers Island, a unique little land much closer to Connecticut than New York. 

But once a year in August, members of the Southold Town Board take a special ferry ride out to the island, 11 miles away from Orient Point and a part-time home to some of the country's richest.
