The Dish: Two eggs served over a giant helping of spinach, tomato and feta cheese sautéed with garlic, served with four slices of thick toasted bread of your choosing and a side of home fries. Jeni's is a popular spot in downtown Southold known for breakfast any time. And some days, eggs just hit the spot as a late lunch. Even half of this particular dish will definitely satisfy that craving and then some. With a side of bacon, this hearty plate can easily be shared with another person. The bed of spinach is delicious, with just the right notes of garlic and feta that melt perfectly with the tomatoes and egg yolk once you dig in. The great flavors make it hard not to eat this dish too quickly.
The Bonus: Egg dishes normally don't make good leftovers but this one does. A simple but great creation from owner Jeni Raymond, a Culinary Institute of America graduate who also offers freshly baked goods such as apple crumb pie and holiday cupcakes made from scratch, seven days a week.
