Woman Injured In 2-Car North Fork Crash: Police
The crash took place on County Road 48 Tuesday, police say.
NORTH FORK, NY — A woman was injured in a two-car Southold crash Tuesday, police said.
According to Southold Town police, the incident took place at 9:27 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 48 and Old North Road.
A man, 61, of Greenport, was traveling east in a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck and began to make a left-hand turn from County Road 48 onto Old North Road, police said.

A woman, 39, of Southold, was behind the man's pickup, traveling east in a 2017 Dodge Ram van; she was unable to stop her vehicle and entered the westbound lane of travel, police said.
The woman's vehicle collided into the driver side of the man's vehicle, causing substantial damage to both vehicles, police said.

She was transported to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital by the Southold Fire Department for evaluation of her injuries; he was evaluated at the scene by Southold Fire Department personnel, police said.
No charges were filed in the crash, police said.
The roadway was temporarily closed while emergency crews removed the damaged vehicles and cleaned up after the crash, police said.
