East Northport Resident Joins Virginia State Police

The 25-year-old began his new assignment in the Fairfax Division on Monday.

An East Northport resident recently joined the ranks of Virginia State Police.

Kyle J. Page, 25, was among 52 new Virginia State Police troopers who began the final phase of their training this week.

Page began his new assignment in the Fairfax Division on Monday and will spend the next six weeks with a field training officer learning his new patrol areas and day-to-day duties. His first duty post covers Prince William County.

Graduation took place on Friday, May 11 at the state police Academy in North Chesterfield County after completing a rigorous 29-week training session and receiving instruction on more than 100 different subjects.

Academy training includes crime scene investigation, survival Spanish, judicial procedures, self- defense, cultural diversity and firearms.
