Read charities' stories, learn their missions, and discover how you can make a difference by bringing joy and saving lives.
LONG ISLAND, NY — There are several cancer charities doing amazing work on Long Island. Whether they are raising money for cancer research, collecting toys for children, financially helping families who have lost a loved one, or raising awareness, organizations are making a difference for those who need it most.
Several of those charities have filled out a Q&A form with the purpose of sharing their mission, goals, and how kindhearted people can help them out. This page is an index to those charities' stories. We encourage you to look through the list, learn what these organizations are doing, and get involved in helping them. Together, we can take a stand against cancer on Long Island.

Nassau County

- American Cancer Society, LI Chapter (Syosset). Goal: Improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support.
- The Andrew C. DeMarco Foundation (North Massapequa). Goal: Support those affected by angiosarcoma, fund research and raise awareness.
- Children's Leukemia Research Association, Inc. (Garden City). Goal: Provide financial support and research grants to those based in the U.S.
- The Colette Coyne Melanoma Awareness Campaign (Nassau). Goal: Raise awareness of the dangers and causes of skin cancer/melanoma through early education and funding research.
- Dylan's Dream Team Memorial Foundation (North Bellmore). Goal: Support children and families who are dealing with pediatric cancer.
- I'm Not Done Yet Foundation (Garden City). Goal: Support adolescent and young adult cancer patients and survivors.
- John Theissen Children's Foundation (Wantagh). Goal: Help sick and underprivileged children in any capacity possible.
- The Lola Jayne Foundation (Seaford). Goal: Support charitable organizations that offer support to grieving parents and advance infant healthcare.
- Matthew Fetzer Foundation (Bayville). Goal: Raise awareness of childhood cancer and the effects it has on families.
- Musella Foundation For Brain Tumor Research And Information (Hewlett). Goal: Emotional and financial support for brain tumor patients and raise money for brain tumor research.
- Olivia Hope Foundation (Syosset). Goal: Fund cancer research while supporting patients and families.
- The Sarah Grace Foundation (Hicksville). Goal: Comfort and support children with cancer and their families.
- Sunrise Association (Oceanside). Goal: Offer free day camps for children fighting cancer along with their siblings.

- Adventureland's Helping Hands Foundation (Farmingdale). Goal: Support local community and nonprofits, including cancer charities, through grants and boosting initiatives.
- Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition (Lindenhurst). Goal: Provide support and services for Town of Babylon residents in active treatment for breast and/or gynecological cancer.
- Camp Good Mourning! (Huntington). Goal: Free bereavement camp for children coping with the death of a loved one.
- The Chloe Belle Foundation (Northport). Goal: Bringing joy to children and young adults fighting cancer.
- The Clark Gillies Foundation (East Farmingdale). Goal: Help children who are physically, developmentally, and/or financially challenged.

- Man Cave Health (Melville). Goal: Promote awareness of men's health with a focus on prostate cancer.
- Maurer Foundation (Melville). Goal: Save lives through breast health education that focuses on breast cancer prevention, early detection, risk reduction and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Pearl Heinlein Foundation (Brightwaters). Goal: Spread kindness, hope, love and joy.
- Rachel's Dance For The Cure (Commack). Goal: Helping families fighting childhood cancer.
- Slice Of Charity (West Islip): Goal: Raising funds and collecting toys and essential resources to support a variety of organizations. Ensuring those in need receive the help they deserve, especially children, veterans and underserved communities.
- Whip Pediatric Cancer (Hauppauge). Goal: Raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer while helping childhood cancer patients make memories.
- William's Warriors (Blue Point). Goal: Fund pediatric brain cancer and improve the quality of life through all children undergoing cancer treatment with a focus on arts and crafts.
East End Suffolk County
- The Coalition For Women's Cancers (Riverhead to Montauk and Shelter Island). Goal: Support women affected by breast and gynecologic cancers.
- Lucia's Angels (Southampton). Goal: Help women with late-stage cancers, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer and uterine cancer.
- North Fork Breast Health Coalition (Riverhead, Southold, Shelter Island). Goal: Prevent and cure breast cancer.
