Man Found Unresponsive In Fort Salonga Pool Dies [UPDATE]

The man was listed in critical condition on Sunday afternoon.

UPDATE: Authorities say Edwin Campos, 39, of Copiague, was pronounced dead on Friday at 8 p.m. at Huntington Hospital. He was found unresponsive in a backyard pool in Fort Salonga on Sunday afternoon.

Homicide detectives are investigating the incident. Anyone with information can call 631-852-6392.

A man is in critical condition after police say he was found unresponsive in a backyard pool in Fort Salonga on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities say a person found 39-year-0ld Copiague resident Edwin Campos unresponsive in an inground pool on Marcelle Court and alerted 911 at approximatley 1:10 p.m.

Suffolk Police and Northport Rescue responded to the scene. Responders performed CPR on Campos and transported him to Huntington Hospital, where he was found in critical condition.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
