
Northport High School had 68 winners during the recent Northeast Regional Scholastic Art Awards.
There were many students who receive more than one honor, including some across multiple categories and levels. The seven Gold Key recipients will move onto the National Scholastic Competition.
In 2014, more than 255,000 submissions were entered. At the regional level approximately 5-7 percent of the submissions received Regional Gold Keys, 7-10 percent received Silver Keys and 10-15 percent received Honorable Mentions. Gold Key works are included in national-level judging. Approximately 5-7 percent of these works receive national recognition. In 2014, 2,000 National Medals were awarded – Northport had three winners.
