Northport Man Brought Crack Pipe To Court: Police

The man now faces additional charges after being sentenced for an unrelated charge.

A man who responded to Village of Northport Justice Court was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and a crack pipe on Monday, May 14, police say.

James Scardino, 56, came to Village of Northport Justice Court for an outstanding summons and was sentenced to 60 days incarceration in Suffolk County Jail. While in holding cell No. 1, he was searched and found to be in possession of a glass pipe commonly used for smoking crack cocaine, police say. The pipe was also found to have a white residue, which tested positive for crack cocaine, police say.

Scardino was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned in Village of Northport Justice Court and taken to Riverhead Jail.
