Paddleboarder Rescues 4 Girls At Crab Meadow Beach; 2 Hurt

One girl briefly lost consciousness and another suffered minor injuries on Friday afternoon, police say.

Two girls were hospitalized after a paddleboarder rescued them and two others from the water on Friday afternoon at Crab Meadow Beach in Fort Salonga, police say.

According to authorities, a man riding a paddleboard noticed that four girls, ages 11 to 13, were struggling to stay afloat in the water at 2:45 p.m. The man rescued the girls and brought them to shore.

One girl briefly lost consciousness and another suffered minor injuries. The two girls were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital by Northport Ambulance.
