Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle Backing Out In Northport: Police
"Lisa was one of the nicest people to have ever walked this earth," her husband said. Her death was an accident, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — A Northport woman was fatally struck by a vehicle backing out of a business's parking space in the village on Thursday afternoon, Northport police said.
Lisa Conway, 54, was struck on Fort Salonga Road at 3:35 p.m., police said.
The 33-year-old East Northport man driving the 2021 Toyota Tundra remained at the scene, police said. Northport and Suffolk police officers determined there was no criminality involved. The driver was issued a citation for backing unsafely, police said.

"Lisa was one of the nicest people to have ever walked this earth," said Aidan Conway, the woman's husband, in a message he asked the Northport Police Department to share.
The Northport Police Department offered its sincere condolences to Conway's family and friends.
