Authorities ID Victim, Driver In Fatal Pedestrian Crash On I-87

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact New York State Police Middletown.

WEST NYACK, NY — Authorities have identified the 55-year-old pedestrian struck and killed after he was involved in an earlier fender bender.

New York State Police say that on Tuesday, around 9:55 p.m., officers responded to a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle on I-87 southbound, between exits 12 and 13, in West Nyack.

An initial investigation found that 55-year-old Saul Clark, of Paterson, New Jersey, was involved in a minor collision with another vehicle.

When he stepped out of his vehicle to look at the damage, he was hit by a 2018 Ford SUV driven by 30-year-old Jasmin McCoy, of Nyack.

Clark was declared dead at the scene.

State police say the investigation is ongoing. They ask that anyone who may have witnessed the incident contact NYSP Middletown at 845-344-5300 and reference RMS No. NY2400835824.
