Domestic Violence, Drug Sale, Windshield Smashed: Stony Point Police

Police report three recent arrests.

STONY POINT, NY — Stony Point police report three recent arrests.

Aug. 18: Officers were dispatched at 5:35 a.m. to a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported to police that during an argument, her boyfriend Diego Diaz-Sandoval hit her in the face several times with his cellphone, causing swelling and bruising to her nose and left eye. She said he also took her phone and threw it, preventing her from calling the police for assistance. The 28-year-old Harrison, New Jersey resident was arrested, charged with assault and criminal mischief, arraigned, and released on his own recognizance with a return court date of Sept. 15.

Aug. 14: At 12:40 p.m., a man was observed by a Stony Point Police Officer exchanging cocaine for money to a man (who was separately charged) near the Stony Point Budget Motor Inn. Police said Omar Rodriguez, 42, was in possession of five plastic Ziploc bags containing cocaine and a large sum of U. S. currency. The Garnerville resident was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned at Stony Point Justice Court, and remanded to Rockland County Jail without bail. He was due to appear in court Tuesday.

Aug. 11: Police were dispatched at 4:40 a.m. to a report of a disturbance outside a residence in Stony Point. A man informed the responding officers that Nosson Mandel intentionally damaged the windshield of his vehicle during an argument. The Stony Point 25-year-old was arrested, charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and released on an appearance ticket returnable Aug. 27.
