Driver In Fatal Crash On The Palisades Is NYPD Officer: Correction
She was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, state police said.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — The driver in a crash Saturday on the Palisades Parkway that killed her passenger has been identified as Bernadine Ramtahal-Thomas of Maybrook, an officer with the New York City Police Department.
The passenger in the car, Chevy Thomas, 36, of Maybrook, was pronounced dead at the scene. Ramtahal-Thomas, 34, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The single-car crash took place just before 3 a.m. Police said their preliminary investigation concluded that Ramtahal was northbound near exit 13 when the 2021 Hyundai left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
State Police were assisted by Thiells Fire Department, Stony Point Fire Department, Haverstraw Ambulance, and Hatzoloh EMS.
