Hudson Valley Painters Celebrate “MOMENTS”
An exhibition featuring award-winning Hudson Valley artists Marlene Wiedenbaum and Sue Barrasi.
“There’s a saying that we don’t recall days; we recall moments. I believe that’s true. Many of our moments connect and reflect who we become - who we are and where we go, like connecting the dots, shaping our lives emotionally and spiritually. My paintings are impressions of some moments I’ve been fortunate to experience, which I then attempt to capture on canvas.” A painter for over four decades, Ms. Barrasi continues to find herself mesmerized by the beauty of her home state. She has been awarded numerous ribbons for her work, as well as grants and residencies, maintaining active membership in the Oil Painters of America, the National Oil and Acrylic Painters of America, Audubon Artists, Resident Member of the Salmagundi Club, Signature member of the American Artist Professional League and is a lifetime member of the Art Students League. Her work has been published as book and magazine covers, postage stamps, posters and backdrops for theatrical productions. Ms. Barrasi recently received the prestigious 2022 Alden Bryan Memorial Award by the Salmagundi Art Club for her landscape painting.
“Marlene Wiedenbaum has the ability to feed both the eye & the spirit…”
