Kids Ride Free on NY Waterway Ferries this Holiday Season

A Holiday Gift from Family-Run NY Waterway

This holiday season, kids are be able to ride free on all NY Waterway ferry routes between New Jersey and Manhattan. This service began Friday, November 26 and will run through Sunday, January 2. A maximum of two children, under the age of 12, will be permitted to ride when accompanied by one, single-paying adult rider.

The ferry is a family-friendly, traffic-free way to enjoy the best of the Big Apple lit up for the holidays with service seven days a week. The special promotion is NY Waterway’s way of helping families enjoy all the city has to offer this holiday season, from the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree to shows on Broadway to skating in Central Park. NY Waterway provides free multi-route shuttle buses in Midtown to carry riders straight to the most popular attractions.

“NY Waterway has always been a family-run business. With Kids Ride Free, we hope more families can enjoy a safe, stress-free way of traveling into the city during the holidays. With all the theaters, restaurants and attractions reopened, we can’t wait to welcome families back on our ferries to enjoy the season,” said Armand Pohan, Chairman, President and CEO of NY Waterway.

Several New Jersey ferry terminals offer low-cost parking or free parking. Riders can also reach many NY Waterway ferry terminals by NJ TRANSIT Rail & Bus, the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Line and free NY Waterway buses.

· Kids under 12 can ride on NY Waterway’s ferries for free on all routes beginning Friday, Nov 26, 2021 through Sunday, January 2, 2022. The ticketing policy for the service is: 2 children are permitted to ride free per each paying adult rider.

NY Waterway offers spacious terminals, fresh air cabins and open-air decks on its ferries. Masks are required in all indoor spaces and all facilities and boats are frequently sanitized.
