The annual watch fire will not light up the night from Piermont Pier until 11:30 p.m. May 29, but there will be a Memorial Day event this holiday weekend in the village. The <a href="https://nyack.patch.com/groups/events/p/ev--memorial-day-parade-bf9c8840" rel="nofollow">Piermont Memorial Post 7462 Memorial Day Parade</a> will start at 10 a.m. Monday morning from the VFW Post at Piermont Ave. and Kinney Street. There will be a program at the memorial in Kennedy park and a ceremony on Piermont Pier.  The Nyack Memorial Day Parade will leave the Riverspace parking lot at 11 a.m. and end with closing ceremonies in Memorial Park. After the ceremony, there will be music, children's entertainment and food in Memorial Park.  Before that, there will be a service at 9 a.m. Monday at the Soldiers and Sailors monument at Oak Hill Cemetery on North Highland Avenue.
