2 Accused Of Stealing Over $1K Of Merchandise From Westchester Dick's Sporting Goods: Police

Yorktown police found the Connecticut suspects in Putnam County, along with the stolen goods and a magnet for removing security tags.

YORKTOWN, NY — A brazen cross-border theft spree led to the arrest of two suspects from Connecticut, according to law enforcement officials in Westchester County.

The Yorktown Police Department says that 36-year-old Jamie B. Johnson and 46-year-old Jennifer M. Healy, both from Bridgeport, were arrested and charged with felony fourth-degree grand larceny, and misdemeanor possession of burglar's tools.

On Dec. 17, at 4:24 p.m., officers responded to the Dick's Sporting Goods, on Lee Boulevard, after receiving a report of a larceny that had just taken place, with the suspects reportedly fleeing in a Dodge Charger.

Police say the suspect vehicle was found and stopped by officers on Union Valley Road in Mahopac.

According to police, a "show up" was conducted at the scene and a positive identification of the suspects connected to the theft was made.

Police say that Johnson and Healy stole assorted merchandise worth $1,024.82 from Dick's Sporting Goods, and possessed a magnet which was used to remove security tags from the merchandise.

The pair was arrested and taken to Yorktown Police Headquarters for arrest processing.

Johnson and Healy were issued appearance tickets and released on their own recognizance. They are scheduled to return to the Yorktown Justice Court on Jan. 6.
