Police: Child Hurt During Domestic Dispute

Stony Point man charged with assault.

A Stony Point man is accused of assault and endangering the welfare of a child after an incident in which a child was injured, according to Stony Point Police.

Police said John J. Rogers, 35, of 30 Heights Road, Stony Point, was involved in an incident in which he is accused of injuring a family member. During the incident, police said the initial victim fell onto a child.

The child sustained minor scrapes on an arm.

Rogers was charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child on Thursday and he was being held at Stony Point Police Headquarters for arraignment in Stony Point Town Court.
