White Wins Second Term as Nyack Mayor

Democrat Jen Laird-White easily won re-election as mayor of the Village of Nyack Tuesday.

The unofficial totals show White with 1,020 votes, 88.3 percent of the total. Beth Riso, who ran on the Green Party line, had 133 votes, 11.5 percent. The victory gives White a second term as Nyack's mayor.

"I am so honored and so delighted to be able to continue to work for and with the people of Nyack," White said. "Thank you to everyone for your support."

Democrats Doug Foster and Marie Lorenzini both ran unoppposed to retain their seats on the Nyack Board of Trustees. 

In Piermont, Mayor Chris Sanders and trustees Mark Blomquist and John Gallucci,Jr., all Democrats, ran without opposition and retained their positions. 

The lone contested race in Piermont was for Village Justice. Democrat Laura G. Weiss won with 76 percent of the vote to Republican Patricia Finn's 23.8 percent.
