2 Chances For Snow In The Hudson Valley Forecast

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — With highs remaining in the 30s, the snow on the ground will stay for a little while — and there will be two more chances to add a layer this week.

The National Weather Service predicts possible snow flurries on Thursday and then a chance of snow overnight Friday into Saturday. It's even possible that those parts of northern Ulster and Dutchess that ended up with nothing when Tuesday's storm shifted south might have a light accumulation.

It'll be sunny Saturday afternoon, Sunday and on Washington's Birthday, so the weather should be decent for sledding in Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester.

Here's the forecast through the holiday weekend based on Rockland County:

• Wednesday - Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 30s. Northwest winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
• Tonight - Clear. Lows around 20. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph.
• Thursday - Sunny in the morning, then partly sunny with a slight chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 30s. West winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of snow 20 percent.
• Thursday Night - Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers in the evening, then partly cloudy after midnight. Breezy with lows in the upper 20s. South winds 10 to 15 mph, increasing to west 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph after midnight. Chance of snow 50 percent.
• Friday - Sunny, breezy with highs in the upper 30s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
• Friday Night - Partly cloudy in the evening, then mostly cloudy with a chance of snow after midnight. Lows in the mid 20s. Chance of snow 40 percent.
• Saturday - Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow in the morning, then partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 30s. Chance of snow 50 percent.
• Saturday Night - Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows around 20.
• Sunday - Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 30s.
