Basketball Tournament Committee Working On 2nd Annual In Ossining
Called the "I Just Wanna Rock" Edition and Family Fun Day, it will commemorate Juneteenth.
OSSINING, NY — To commemorate Juneteenth, the Westchester Basketball Tournament Committee is raising funds to put on its second annual event June 24.
Called the "I Just Wanna Rock" Edition and Family Fun Day, it will be at Nelson Park.
"We hope as we continue to build this annual event it will become a staple event that our community looks forward to at the onset of their summer and continue to bring the full history of Juneteenth forward in collaboration with the Ossining Juneteenth Council," organizers said on their GoFundMe page.

Last year, three teams were awarded medals and trophies for participation in the first annual Basketball Tournament and Family Fun Day. Also, through the Madison Square Garden of Dreams Foundation, the Jr. Knicks hosted a basketball clinic for younger youth in the community at the beginning of the event.
The committee was also able to send three youth players to Basketball Camp with MVP Basketball Camp and the Jr. Knick in the summer of 2022.
