OSSINING, NY — The Bethany Arts Community is among nine Westchester County arts organizations awarded capital funding grants.

The arts center will receive $50,000 for classroom refurbishment, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced this week.

In total, $42 nillion in capital funds were awarded through New York State Council on the Arts, to support crucial building renovations, accessibility improvements and new spaces for creative work at 144 arts projects across the state. The $1.93 million allotment to Westchester groups is part of the record funding.

"We are most grateful to Governor Hochul and New York State Council on the Arts for recognizing the importance of these Westchester cultural destinations and the need to sustain and upgrade them to ensure their longevity within our communities," said Janet T. Langsam, CEO of ArtsWestchester, which received funds toward a capital initiative to enhance its gallery and 9th floor spaces to better accommodate performances.
