Chase Of Wanted Bronx Man Spotted At Maple Commons Nets Missing Gun
The loaded 9mm semi-automatic gun had been reported lost in Georgia, according to Croton-On-Hudson police.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — An encounter with a wanted man at a new housing development led to a chase, and the recovery of a missing gun, according to police.
On January 31, Croton detectives saw a vehicle exiting Maple Commons at 45 Maple St., and believed the driver to be 30-year-old Oliver Fernandez, of the Bronx, who had an active arrest warrant issued by the Village Justice Court.
Detectives followed the vehicle in order to confirm the driver's identity. In northern Westchester, they were able to confirm the driver was in fact Fernandez. The detectives then followed the vehicle back to Croton.

Patrols on duty were informed of the investigation and tried to follow and stop the vehicle, but Fernandez attempted to flee in his vehicle, according to police. He was soon blocked in by patrol cars.
Fernandez was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm semi-automatic gun, which had been reported lost in Georgia, authorities said. He was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and second-degree criminal contempt.

Fernandez was arraigned in the Village Justice Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail on $15,000 bail, police said.
