Croton-Harmon Middle School Students Show Kindness To Furry Friends

Pierre Van Cortlandt MS students collected items to donate to the SPCA of Westchester.

From Pierre Van Cortlantt MS: Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School students in Croton-on-Hudson recently wrapped up a donation drive to benefit the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Westchester.

“The idea came out of our Advisory topic of ‘kindness’ and the students jumped on it,” said Linda Jamison, a PVC special education teacher. “We asked them to bring in old blankets, towels, sheets, gently used leashes and dog toys.”

Students also contributed dog and cat food, along with basic necessities the shelter uses on a regular basis, including paper towels and cleansers. A group of students traveled to the Briarcliff Manor-based SPCA to deliver the items in time for the holidays.
