CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — Croton's 35th Annual Summerfest kicks off Sunday with the traditional parade, followed by a street festival featuring entertainment, food, and more than 100 vendors, many with family-fun activities.

Much of the Upper Village will be closed to cars.

The parade starts at Veterans Corners on Old Post Road South and ends on Grand Street. More than 30 local groups from nursery schools to scout troops will be participating in this year's parade along with antique cars, floats, music, bagpipes, mascots and puppets. It will feature "a special homage" to the Village's 125th Anniversary, village officials said.

There will be two stages featuring live music from The Blue Chips, Harmony Road, and Dos Belos.

Games and activities will include face painting, sand art, a piñata bash, a pie eating contest, and interactive tours of village fire trucks and construction vehicles.
